Cidophage Retard is used to treat non-insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise therapy have failed. It can be treated in obese adult patients, either as a single treatment or in combination with other oral blood sugar-lowering agents or with insulin. For children aged 10 years and over, type 2 diabetes can be treated as a single treatment or in combination with insulin.
