Quadriderm Cream is an advanced topical formulation specifically designed to treat a wide range of complex dermatological conditions that may involve inflammatory reactions, secondary or primary bacterial infections, and concomitant fungal infections. This cream features a unique formulation that combines five active ingredients that work synergistically to provide a broad-spectrum therapeutic effect targeting various aspects of the dermatological problem. These active ingredients include betamethasone, a potent corticosteroid with excellent anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, anti-swelling, and anti-redness properties; gentamicin, a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against many Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria that may cause or aggravate skin infections; tolnaftate, a powerful antifungal agent widely used to treat common fungal skin infections such as athlete's foot, ringworm, and jock itch. Clioquinol, a compound with relatively weaker antifungal and antibacterial properties than gentamicin and tolnaftate, may help control some superficial skin infections; and chlorocresol, an effective antiseptic that helps prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi and also acts as a preservative in the cream formulation. This unique combination of ingredients makes Quadriderm Cream a valuable treatment option for combination skin conditions that require simultaneous treatment of inflammation and bacterial and fungal infections.
The active ingredient in Quadriderm Cream
Quadriderm Cream contains a balanced combination of five active ingredients that work synergistically to target the various aspects of combination skin infections:
Betamethasone: A potent corticosteroid belonging to the glucocorticoid class. Betamethasone works by inhibiting the release of chemicals that cause inflammation, itching, swelling, and redness in the skin. It helps relieve the symptoms associated with many inflammatory skin conditions. Gentamicin: A broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the aminoglycoside group. Gentamicin works by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria, killing them. It is effective against many Gram-negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas, Proteus, and Escherichia coli, as well as some Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus.
Tolnaftate: An effective antifungal agent used to treat superficial fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris. Tolnaftate works by inhibiting the growth and reproduction of fungi.
Clioquinol: A compound with antifungal and antibacterial properties. Although its effectiveness is considered weaker than gentamicin and tolnaftate, it may help control some superficial skin infections.
Chlorocresol: An effective antiseptic with antibacterial and antifungal properties. In addition, it acts as a preservative in the cream formula to help prevent the growth of microorganisms.
Indications for Use of Quadriderm Cream
Quadriderm Cream is used to treat a variety of skin conditions that may involve inflammatory components and secondary bacterial or fungal infections, or the risk of them occurring, including:
Eczema and Dermatitis: Including atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis, especially when there are signs of secondary bacterial or fungal infections or the risk of them occurring.
Psoriasis: It can be used to relieve inflammation and itching associated with psoriasis, especially if secondary infections are present.
Severe Pruritus: It can help relieve itching associated with inflammation or infection.
Fungal skin infections (such as athlete's foot, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris) accompanied by inflammation or itching: Tolnaftate and clioquinol provide an antifungal effect, while betamethasone helps relieve inflammation and associated symptoms.
Some bacterial skin infections accompanied by inflammation or itching: Gentamicin and clioquinol provide an antibacterial effect to help treat the infection, while betamethasone reduces inflammation.
