Both Tareg and Co-Tareg are used to treat high blood pressure, but their composition and active ingredients differ, resulting in differences in how they affect blood pressure and the conditions for which each is most suitable.
Tareg Tablets Ingredients
Tareg tablets contain the active ingredient valsartan at a concentration of 160 mg. Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by blocking the effect of angiotensin II, a chemical in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict and raise blood pressure. Blocking angiotensin II helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
Co-Tareg Tablets Ingredients
Co-Tareg tablets contain a combination of two active ingredients that work together to lower blood pressure through two different mechanisms, at the following concentrations:
Valsartan: 160 mg, works in the same way as Tareg tablets (angiotensin II receptor blocker).
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ): 12.5 mg, a thiazide diuretic. It works by increasing the excretion of sodium and water from the body through the kidneys, which reduces blood volume and helps lower blood pressure.
