Erypioten is used to treat anemia and is given in specific cases, for adults and children aged 1 to 18 years, who are undergoing kidney dialysis sessions, for adults and the elderly who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis, and for adults who have poor kidney function without starting kidney dialysis sessions. It is also used to treat anemia and reduce the need for blood transfusions in adults who are receiving chemotherapy for solid tumor cancer, malignant lymphoma, or multiple myeloma.
Erypioten is used as part of a program to prepare patients for organ transplants.
Erypioten is also used to treat moderate anemia to prepare patients for some major surgeries.
