Megamox is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, lungs, nose, urinary tract, skin and bones. It is effective only in fighting infections caused by bacteria and does not affect viruses.
Megamox syrup consists of a mixture of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin works to prevent the formation of the cell wall of bacteria, which leads to their effective elimination. Clavulanic acid contributes to protecting amoxicillin from destruction by enzymes secreted by some types of bacteria, which makes this mixture effective against a wide range of bacteria.
