Rocephin is used to treat serious bacterial infections, such as severe pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and subcutaneous tissue infections, bone and joint infections, inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain, and blood poisoning.
Rocephin is also used as a preventive measure before surgery and to treat patients with low white blood cell counts with a high temperature suspected to be caused by a bacterial infection.
