Haemokion contains a substance called phytomenadione, which is a form of vitamin K1. The drug is used to prevent and treat bleeding resulting from the use of some blood-thinning medications such as warfarin. Haemokion is used to treat vitamin K deficiency, which can occur due to malnutrition or some diseases, to treat liver problems that lead to a deficiency in the production of clotting factors, which increases the risk of bleeding.
Haemokion is also used to treat vitamin K deficiency in newborns, which can lead to brain hemorrhage.
