Cilest is a low-hormone combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. Each pill contains two female hormones: norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol.
Cilest prevents the release of an egg from the ovaries to prevent pregnancy. It also makes the fluid (mucus) in the cervix thicker, making it harder for sperm to reach the uterus. The pill starts working from the moment you take the first pill.
