    • Both PK-Merz and Stalipark are used to treat Parkinson's disease, a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement. However, they contain different active ingredients that belong to different pharmacological classes and work by different mechanisms to relieve the symptoms of this disease. Understanding these differences helps determine the most appropriate medication for each patient.

      PK-Merz Tablets Ingredients

PK-Merz Tablets contain the active ingredient amantadine hydrochloride 100 mg. Amantadine is an antiviral drug that also has effects on the central nervous system. In Parkinson's disease, it is believed to work by increasing the release of dopamine and preventing its reuptake, in addition to its antagonistic effect at glutamate NMDA receptors, which may help relieve motor symptoms and dyskinesia caused by levodopa.

      Stalipark Tablets Ingredients

Stalipark tablets contain a triple combination of active ingredients that work synergistically to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, at specific concentrations:

Levodopa: 100 mg, a substance converted in the brain to dopamine, replenishing the deficiency of this important chemical.

Carbidopa: 25 mg, an inhibitor of the decarboxylase enzyme that converts levodopa to dopamine outside the brain. Carbidopa helps increase the amount of levodopa that reaches the brain and reduces peripheral side effects.

Entacapone: 200 mg, an inhibitor of the catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) enzyme, which breaks down levodopa in the brain. Entacapone helps prolong the effect of levodopa and reduce periods of motor "blockage."
