Both Concor and Concor Plus are used to treat high blood pressure, but their composition and active ingredients differ, resulting in differences in how they affect blood pressure and the conditions for which each is most suitable.
Concor Tablets Ingredients
Concor tablets contain the active ingredient bisoprolol fumarate. Bisoprolol belongs to a class of selective beta-blockers, which work by blocking the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline on the heart and blood vessels. This helps slow the heart rate, reduce the force of heart contraction, and dilate blood vessels, leading to lower blood pressure.
Concor Plus Tablets Ingredients
Concor Plus tablets contain a combination of two active ingredients that work together to lower blood pressure through two different mechanisms:
Bisoprolol fumarate: works in the same way as Concor tablets (beta-blocking).
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ): A thiazide diuretic. It works by increasing the excretion of sodium and water from the body through the kidneys, which reduces blood volume and helps lower blood pressure.
