About Flurbiprofen NSAID, Oral, phenylalkanoic acid derivative, Analgesic and anti-inflammatory, Anti arthritic. Mechanism of Action of Flurbiprofen It reduces prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclo oxygenase enzymes both COX1 and COX2.In higher doses it reduces the thromboxane A2 synthesis by COX1 inhibition. So platelet aggregation is inhibited by this drug. After topical application in the case of ophthalmic preparation it prevents miosis by reducing ocular prostaglandins synthesis. It is a phenylalkalonic acid derivative Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug. Indications for Flurbiprofen 1. Rheumatoid arthritis 2. Osteo arthritis 3. Ankylosing spondylitis 4.
