Properties and actions: Safamood Forte is an active antide- pressant, because it inhibits synaptic reuptake of serotonin and to a lesser extent norepinephrine, resulting in increased levels in the synaptic gap. Safamood Forte suppresses interleukin- 6 (IL6), and thereby promotes the deactivation of the hyperactive hypothalamic- pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA). Safamood Forte indirectly inhibits the secretion of corticosteroids. Safamood Forte exerts a mild anxiolytic action through the inhibition of the Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA) reup- take pumps. Safamood Forte is well tolerated and causes no physical dependence, muscle relaxation or cognitive impairment. There has never been a report of toxicity in humans.
