Some important drug interactions include:
Monoaminoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs): Concomitant use of dextromethorphan with MAOIs (such as phenelzine and isocarboxazid) can lead to serious, life-threatening interactions. This combination should be avoided, and you should wait at least 14 days after stopping MAOIs before taking dextromethorphan.
Other antidepressants: Such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). Concomitant use may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
